Bishkek, Oct. 20, 2025 /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev attended ceremonial meeting to celebrate the professional holiday of workers in the agro-industrial complex, Cabinet of Ministers reported.

On behalf of President Sadyr Zhaparov and the Cabinet of Ministers, he congratulated industry representatives, noting the country's significant economic growth indicators.

From January to September of this year, Kyrgyzstan's GDP grew by 10%, reaching 1.2 trillion soms in nominal terms. Gross agricultural output reached 348.4 billion soms, maintaining growth at 0.9%. Food processing and production accounted for 40.1% of GDP, and construction accounted for 34.8%. The added value of agriculture amounted to 115.6 billion soms, corresponding to 9.3% of GDP, he noted.

Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized the growing interest of foreign countries in Kyrgyzstan's organic products and the increase in export volumes. Trade turnover with third countries reached $5.7 billion. Trade with Uzbekistan grew by 20%, with imports increasing by 15.7% and exports by 28%. Trade with South Korea also grew by 29.5% and with the UAE by 17%. This confirms that increased mutual trade is contributing to economic development, Kasymaliev said.

The 2025 harvest figures were also presented. Thus, 362,000 quintals of rice (an increase of 11.2%), 9.4 million quintals of potatoes, 623,000 quintals of legumes, and 2.8 million quintals of fruits and vegetables were harvested. Grain crops covered 568,000 hectares. Gross agricultural output for the first eight months reached 252.5 billion soms, up 2.4% from the previous year.

For the first time in the history of independent Kyrgyzstan, 40 tons of alfalfa seeds were exported to Russia and 1.6 tons of pumpkin seeds to Japan. Furthermore, in the Zhaiyl district, tomato yields reached 120 tons per hectare, setting a world record.

Without ensuring domestic food security, it is difficult to feed the people. Today, Kyrgyzstan is self-sufficient in six of the nine basic food products. We are actively promoting joint projects within the EAEU: Kazakhstan's self-sufficiency rate is 87%, Kyrgyzstan's is 74%, and Armenia's is 67%. Food sustainability is one of the key factors of national security, emphasized Adylbek Kasymaliev.

He also reported that 28 enterprises had been commissioned in 2025, with another 35 new production facilities planned for launch by the end of the year.

At the end of the event, he presented distinguished agricultural workers with Certificates of Honor and Letters of Gratitude from the Cabinet of Ministers.
