Bishkek, June 5, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan plans to jointly produce transformers with Belarus., Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev told Kabar.
According to him, currently Kyrgyzstan purchases the said products from Belarus. However, the aim is to expand cooperation in this area.
“We are negotiating with Belarus on the production of transformers. Previously, we purchased them, but now we are considering the possibility of joint production with the Minsk Transformer Plant,” the minister said.
Ibraev noted that if the project succeeds, the country will create conditions for using various types of transformers in both energy sector and business sector.
"The availability of energy equipment will increase. Once production is established, logistics will be simplified, prices will decrease, and opportunities for uninterrupted electricity supply will expand. It will also create conditions for upgrading old equipment," he added.
