Bishkek, June 25, 2026. /Kabar/. Erlist Akunbekov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, met with Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier of the State Council of People's Republic of China, as part of his working visit to the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR).
During the meeting, the parties noted that important agreements had been reached at previous meetings between the two leaders to further develop and strengthen relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, and held discussions on new issues on the bilateral agenda.
Erlist Akunbekov, noting that this is his first working visit to China as Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, emphasized that Kyrgyz-Chinese relations are reaching a qualitatively new level of comprehensive strategic partnership.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that, thanks to the political will and personal support of the two heads of state, the implementation of strategic projects such as the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, the opening of the third Bedel checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border, and the construction of the Barskoon-Bedel-Uchturfan-Aksu highway, is aimed at creating a solid foundation for strengthening transport connectivity and developing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
In turn, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Ding Xuexiang expressed his readiness to support all projects of mutual interest. "The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China is one of the largest regions in the country. We will make every effort to maintain the growing trend of mutual trade with Kyrgyzstan through this region and are interested in the uninterrupted operation of border crossing points. The Chinese side is also ready to actively pursue new areas of cooperation," he stated.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on the need to sign bilateral documents on the issues discussed today at the upcoming meeting of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, as well as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Heads of State Summit, which will be held in Kyrgyzstan.
