Kyrgyzstan continues concrete lining of canals

Bishkek, May 26, 2026. /Kabar/. Laying concrete surfaces on irrigation canals continues in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the ministry of water resources, 883.2 million soms were allocated from the national budget for these purposes in 2025. These funds were used to purchase 342,570 square meters of concrete surfaces, of which 148,400 square meters were used for the construction of concrete canals, with total length of 27.6 km.

In addition, 657,400 square meters of concrete lining are planned to be laid in 2026. To date, 107,417 square meters of concrete pavement have already been laid on canals with a total length of 21.9 km across the republic, including:

Batken Region — 7,030 square meters over 3.5 km;

Osh Region — 16,000 square meters over 3.4 km;

Jalal-Abad Region — 19,565 square meters over 3.88 km;

Naryn Region — 6,935 square meters over 1.1 km;

Talas Region — 11,020 square meters over 1.78 km;

Issyk-Kul Region — 3,610 square meters over 0.9 km;

Chui Region — 43,257 square meters with 7,355 km of canals.
