Bishkek, June 25, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is creating the most favorable conditions in the world for jewelers, Azamat Makeshev, General Director of the Association of Jewelers of Kyrgyzstan told at press conference in Kabar.

According to him, in recent years, the country has adopted a number of important decisions aimed at developing the jewelry industry. These are the reduction of the tax rate for jewelers to 0.25% and VAT exemption for the import of equipment and technology necessary for the jewelry industry.

Furthermore, a mechanism for legalizing jewelry has been launched, and Kyrgyz jewelers have been given the opportunity to recycle domestically produced gold. They can now purchase gold at 2% below the global market price.

Preferential loans at 6% per annum are also available for equipment upgrades and professional development.

"All of this is the result of comprehensive government support. As a result, many businesses that previously operated in the shadow economy have transitioned to legal and transparent operations. Today, Kyrgyzstan is creating the most favorable conditions in the world for the development of the jewelry industry. This also opens up excellent opportunities for attracting domestic and foreign investment," said Makeshev.
