Bishkek, April 15, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyz honey continues to strengthen its position on international markets, Chairman of the Chamber of Beekeepers of the Kyrgyz Republic Sultanbek Abbasov told Kabar News Agency.
According to data of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, honey exports in 2025 were distributed across a number of countries. The largest volumes were supplied to Uzbekistan — 303.6 tons and China — 102 tons. Other export destinations included the United Arab Emirates — 45 tons, South Korea — 31.9 tons, Japan — 24.4 tons, the United States — 15.2 tons, Malaysia — 6.8 tons, Russia — 5.6 tons, and Bahrain — 4.7 tons.
Abbasov noted that the steady expansion of export geography reflects growing international demand for Kyrgyz honey, which is valued for its natural quality and compliance with global standards.
An important milestone for the industry was reached at the end of January, when the European Commission authorized the export of Kyrgyz honey to the European Union by including it in the official list of permitted imports. This decision confirms that Kyrgyzstan’s quality control and certification system meets the EU’s strict requirements.
The opening of the European market is expected to significantly expand export opportunities for domestic producers and further strengthen the position of Kyrgyz honey as a competitive national product.
