Bishkek, May 19, 2026 /Kabar/. On May 19, Kyrgyz Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Almaz Turgunbaev met with representatives of the French company Alstom and delegation from the French Embassy in Kyrgyzstan.
According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the meeting was attended by Nicolas Faye, Ambassador of France to Kyrgyzstan; Ludovic Léa, Economic Counselor at the French Embassy in Kazakhstan with jurisdiction over Kyrgyzstan; Jérôme Boyer, Director of Alstom for Central Asia; and embassy representatives.
During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding cooperation in the transport sector.
Particular attention was paid to the development of the railway industry, including improving links with China, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, as well as modernizing domestic railway infrastructure.
French delegation expressed its intention to hold a series of meetings with relevant Kyrgyz government agencies, including discussions on areas of cooperation with leaders of the transport, financial, and railway sectors.
At the end of the meeting, the parties noted their mutual interest in further deepening their partnership in transport and infrastructure.
