Bishkek, Aug. 17, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan and Georgia intend to strengthen cooperation in combating transnational organized crime, fraud, drug trafficking, and other modern challenges. Kyrgyz Interior Minister Ulan Niyazbekov told in the meeting with Georgian Interior Minister Sulkhan Levanovich in Tbilisi.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the parties also discussed protecting the rights and legitimate interests of Kyrgyz citizens engaged in business activities in Georgia, as well as cooperation in locating individuals on interstate and international wanted lists.
During the meeting, the Kyrgyz side noted Georgia's positive experience in reforming the law enforcement system, digitalization, and improving the accessibility of public services. They expressed willingness to study and implement effective practices.
Georgian side also provided with information on ongoing reforms in Kyrgyzstan and measures to improve the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies. In particular, the development of the "Safe Country" project, the introduction of modern technical equipment, and the strengthening of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' material and technical resources were highlighted.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in further strengthening interaction and developing mutually beneficial cooperation between the ministries of internal affairs of the two countries.
