Bishkek, July 3, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan currently has sufficient fuel and lubricant reserves. Deputy Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Nasipbek Kerimov told Birinchi Radio.

According to him, the country's existing fuel reserves will last for one to six weeks.

"As is known, over the past three to four years, due to the worsening geopolitical situation globally, the energy market situation has changed rapidly. In this regard, countries have begun to review their internal balances, needs, and supply diversification issues. "Due to the lack of adequate oil and gas production, we remain a country dependent on imports," Kerimov said.

The deputy minister also noted that fuel supply volumes from Russia have currently decreased slightly compared to previous levels.

"Previously, we imported over 90% of our fuel and lubricants from Russia, and we continue to receive them from there today. This is because an intergovernmental agreement on fuel supplies was signed in 2016. Kyrgyzstan annually consumes approximately 2 million tons of various types of fuel and lubricants, and almost 95% of this volume comes from Russia. However, compared to previous years, supply volumes have decreased slightly," he concluded.
