Bishkek, June 19, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan may become a member of the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investments and Export Credits (ICIEC).
According to Ministry of Finance, Deputy Minister of Finance of Kyrgyzstan Nurbek Akjolov and the Corporation's CEO Khalid Khalafallah discussed the issue of the republic's accession to the international organization at the Islamic Development Bank Group's Annual Meeting in Baku.
During the talks, the parties discussed Kyrgyzstan's prospects for membership in the ICIEC. As noted by the meeting participants, the corporation's Board of Governors will review the republic's application for membership in the near future.
The parties believe that Kyrgyzstan's accession to the organization will facilitate expanded opportunities for attracting investment, developing the country's export potential, and strengthening international economic cooperation.
Furthermore, ICIEC delegation is expected to visit Kyrgyzstan this year for consultations and discussions on possible future collaboration mechanisms.
ICIEC is part of the Islamic Development Bank Group and specializes in investment and export credit insurance, providing risk mitigation tools for investors and exporters.
