Bishkek, May 14, 2025. /Kabar/. In the first four months of 2025, Kyrgyzstan exported 143.7 tons of honey, which is 45.9 tons more than in the same period last year.
According to data of the Ministry of Agriculture, 97.8 tons were exported in 2024 during the same period. Thus, exports increased by 47%, according to official statistics.
Main export destinations of Kyrgyz honey (January-April 2025):
- China – 82.1 tons (the largest volume)
- United Arab Emirates – 24.5 tons
- Uzbekistan – 15.1 tons
- Qatar – 6.3 tons
- Kuwait – 4.6 tons
The growth of supplies to China and the UAE is especially noticeable, which indicates a high demand for natural Kyrgyz honey in Asian and Middle Eastern markets.
Imports have sharply decreased: if 44.8 tons of honey were imported to the country in the first four months of 2024, then only 0.5 tons were imported in the same period of 2025. This indicates the sufficiency of domestic production and growing confidence in domestic products.
Kyrgyzstan is traditionally considered an ecologically clean region, which increases the competitiveness of local honey in the international market. Experts note that strengthening export positions contributes to the development of beekeeping and an increase in the income of rural producers.
