Bishkek, June 22, 2026. /Kabar/. Ombudsman Jamilya Zhamanbaeva met with the representative of the Iranian Human Rights Headquarters Kasem Barmuz.
According to the Ombudsman Institute, Zhamanbaeva expressed her condolences to the families of the deceased and injured in connection with the recent situation in Iran, and expressed her hope for the preservation of human life and the safety of ordinary people, and the continuation of peaceful life.
She noted that today the influence of national human rights institutions is increasingly improving.
"Modern challenges require the exchange of experience between interstate law enforcement agencies. We can develop cooperation on the protection of citizens' rights in places of detention and other places of forced detention, the protection of the rights of labor migrants and students, as well as on humanitarian issues," the ombudsman said.
Kasem Barmuz thanked Jamilya Zhamanbaeva for the warm welcome and invitation to participate in the first consultative meeting of national human rights institutions of the SCO member states.
On June 23, the first consultative meeting of national human rights institutions of the SCO member states will be held in Bishkek.
