Kyrgyzstan participates in Intergovernmental Forum on Mining in Geneva

Bishkek, Nov. 7, 2025. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan participated in the 21st annual general meeting of the Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals, and Sustainable Development, held in Geneva.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment, and Technical Supervision, Deputy Minister Marat Zhusupbekov participated in the forum on behalf of the ministry.

The meeting discussed key areas of sustainable development in the mining industry, including the rational use of mineral resources, improving national subsoil use policies, and minimizing the impact of mining activities on the environment and local communities.

Zhusupbekov also participated in IGF, where government representatives consider strategic mechanisms for international cooperation, exchange of experience, and the implementation of modern approaches in geology and mining.

The Intergovernmental Mining Forum (IGF) supports governments in developing and implementing effective mineral resource management policies that enhance sustainable economic growth, improve human well-being and protect the environment.
