Bishkek, June 26, 2026. /Kabar/. Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan Maksat Asanaliev took part in the 14th International Legal Forum in St. Petersburg.

According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, during the forum, Maksat Asanaliev held bilateral meetings with Russian Prosecutor General Alexander Gutsan, Russian Justice Minister Konstantin Chuichenko, and Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Belarus Konstantin Bychek.

During the talks, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation in law enforcement, aimed at further strengthening the interaction between the competent authorities of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, as well as increasing the effectiveness of joint work on issues of mutual interest.

They particularly discussed the transfer of convicted persons to serve their sentences in their country of citizenship. They noted positive dynamics in cooperation, and confirmed mutual interest in further improving relevant cooperation mechanisms.

They also held talks on issues related to the opening of a representative office of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation. The parties emphasized the practical significance of this initiative for enhancing the effectiveness of cooperation on the transfer of convicted persons, mutual legal assistance in criminal cases, extradition, protection of the rights of Kyrgyz citizens, and the prompt resolution of other issues of mutual interest.

Following the meetings, the parties once again confirmed mutual interest in further strengthening the strategic partnership, expanding practical cooperation, and continuing the constructive dialogue between the competent authorities of the two countries.
