Bishkek, Feb. 10, 2026 /Kabar/. The 2026 Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Eurasia Week took place in Paris, bringing together representatives of Eurasian countries and OECD member states.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Deputy Minister Mederbek Tumanov spoke at plenary sessions dedicated to the development of critical mineral resources for sustainable growth, as well as the development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and strengthening regional economic connectivity.

The presentations outlined the country's key initiatives in the areas of sustainable and green development, responsible business practices, digitalization of trade procedures, and integration into regional and global value chains.

Also on the sidelines of Eurasia Week, the deputy minister held bilateral meetings with representatives of the OECD Public Administration Department, as well as with William Thompson, Head of the OECD Eurasia Division. During the meetings, prospects for expanding Kyrgyzstan's cooperation with the OECD were discussed, including the implementation of joint projects in green development, the exchange of expert support, and the further alignment of national reforms with OECD recommendations and best practices.

Additionally, the application of OECD standards in public administration, the implementation of digital solutions, and the prospects for using artificial intelligence in public administration were discussed. Following the meetings, an agreement was reached to prepare for the signing of a cooperation document and hold a workshop in Bishkek to exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation between Kyrgyz government agencies and the OECD.

Participation in OECD Eurasia Week 2026 allowed for stronger dialogue with partners, the presentation of Kyrgyzstan's socioeconomic development priorities, and the identification of possible areas for further cooperation with the OECD.
