Bishkek, June 3, 2026 /Kabar/. During his working visit to St. Petersburg, First Deputy Chairman of Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers Daniyar Amangeldiev delivered welcoming speech at the Russia-Kyrgyzstan business dialogue, held on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
In his speech, he noted the particular significance of Kyrgyzstan's first full participation in the SPIEF, emphasizing the forum's role as one of the largest international platforms for developing economic ties, attracting investment, and launching promising projects.
Daniyar Amangeldiev emphasized that Kyrgyzstan and Russia are strategic partners and allies. Cooperation between the two countries today extends beyond traditional trade and is increasingly focused on industrial cooperation, the creation of joint ventures, the localization of enterprises, and the implementation of major investment projects.
He also emphasized that Kyrgyzstan maintains sustainable economic growth, actively developing industry, construction, services, the digital economy, and transport infrastructure. Key priorities include developing the real sector, attracting capital investment, and implementing modern technologies.
Particular attention was paid to energy. Kyrgyzstan has significant hydropower potential and is consistently promoting the construction of the Kambarata-1 HPP, as well as small and medium-sized hydroelectric power plants and renewable energy projects.
Transport and logistics also remain important areas of cooperation. The Kokcho Koz trade and logistics center project was implemented through the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund. Projects to build solar and wind power plants in the Issyk-Kul region are being implemented jointly with the Russian side, and an aerated concrete plant is planned for construction in the Batken region.
The strategic China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project was particularly noted, as it will expand the region's transport capacity, reduce freight delivery times, and create conditions for the development of new industrial and logistics clusters.
Tourism, industrial cooperation within the EAEU, digitalization of the economy, and the development of interregional cooperation were also named as priority areas. Kyrgyzstan is interested in expanding cooperation with Russian partners in the fields of information technology, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, and financial technology.
Concluding his speech, Daniyar Amangeldiev reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan's openness to investment and long-term partnership.
