Kyrgyzstan starts second phase of Integrated Rural Development project

Bishkek, June 2, 2026 /Kabar/. A tripartite memorandum of understanding was signed on June 1 on the implementation of the second phase of the “Integrated Rural Development” project, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry reported.

According to the information, the document was signed by the Agriculture Ministry, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the international organization Good Neighbors International.

The second phase will be implemented in Osh, Batken and Jalal-Abad regions.

It provides for supporting farmers and cooperatives, developing infrastructure, building a logistics center, expanding access to microcredit, and introducing digital solutions to the agricultural sector.

The first phase of the project, implemented in 2021–2025, achieved significant results in increasing agricultural productivity, developing livestock farming, improving infrastructure, and increasing family income.
