Kyrgyzstan studies smart agriculture technologies of Korea

Bishkek, March 10, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz delegation took part in experience exchange program on modern "smart" agriculture technologies in the Republic of Korea, Ministry of Agriculture reported.

According to the ministry, the delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Asel Kenenbaeva, included representatives of the ministry's subordinate organizations: the State Enterprise AgroSmart and the State Enterprise Gosplemzavod, as well as representatives of the Agribusiness Competitiveness Center and farmers from the dairy farming and horticulture sectors, selected as part of the World Bank-funded Sustainable Agrifood Clusters Development project.

During the visit, the Kyrgyz delegation held bilateral meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Community of the Republic of Korea, the Ministry of Science and ICT of the Republic of Korea, and leading Korean organizations developing digital agriculture solutions.

The exchange program included visits to vertical and closed farms, enterprises, and research centers specializing in automation and agricultural innovation. Among them were Dawoon Co., Ltd., Incheon; One Acre Farm, Yongin; Farm8; Plan T, Pyeongtaek; and the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB), Daejeon.

Program participants gained practical insight into advanced smart farming technologies and modern digital solutions applied in the agricultural sector.

The program was made possible thanks to the support of the Korea Green Growth Trust Fund, the Government of the Republic of Korea, and the World Bank.

The knowledge gained is expected to facilitate the implementation of modern smart technologies in Kyrgyzstan, improve the efficiency of agricultural production, and positively impact the development of farms in the country.
