Bishkek, April 13, 2026 /Kabar/. This year, Kyrgyzstan plans to commission 13 small hydropower plants with a total capacity of 81.03 MW, Ministry of Energy reports.
According to the information, the generated electricity will amount to approximately 348.3 million kWh per year.
They are the following small hydropower plants:
Chui region
- Ken-Tor-1 0.63 MW
- Sokuluk-3 9.5 MW
- Tuyuk 5.9 MW
- Kichi-Kemin 7.1 MW
Issyk-Kul region
- Orto-Tokoi 21 MW
- Tup 9 MW
Jalal-Abad region
- Sary-Tash 4.6 MW
- Kainama-2 4.8 MW (commissioned)
Talas region
- Urmaral 1.6 MW
Osh region
- Konduk 5.3 MW
- Alai Hydro 4.4 MW
Batken region
- Leilek 6 MW
Naryn region
- Kurtka 1.2 MW
In addition, by 2026-2030, the total capacity was 421.26 MW It is planned to commission 48 small hydropower plants.
Recall that between 2021 and 2025, 27 small hydropower plants with a total capacity of 109.8 MW were commissioned. The generated electricity will be approximately 427 million kWh per year.
