Bishkek, 10.06.26 /Kabar/. Elvira Surabaldieva, Chairwoman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security and Migration of Kyrgyz Parliament, met with Iranian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Golam Hossein Yadegari.
As reported by the parliament, the parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects of Kyrgyz-Iranian cooperation and discussed issues of expanding interparliamentary cooperation.
Touching upon the situation in the Middle East, Elvira Surabaldieva noted that Kyrgyzstan consistently supports the peaceful resolution of all conflicts based on the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
In addition, the Chairwoman of the Committee thanked the Iranian side for its support in Kyrgyzstan's election to the non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council for 2027-2028.
At the same time, the deputy said that the Kyrgyz side is interested in further expanding cooperation with Iran in political, trade-economic, transport-logistics, cultural-humanitarian and other areas.
Elvira Surabaldieva paid special attention to interaction within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, adding that the chairmanship of the SCO in 2026 is of great importance for Kyrgyzstan.
In turn, Ambassador Gholam Hossein Yadegari thanked the Kyrgyz side for its support.
He noted the high level of political dialogue between the two states, based on the principles of mutual respect and trust, and confirmed Iran's interest in further deepening bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
