Bishkek, June 20, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan and Turkiye signed an agreement on cooperation in urban development, the Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to the ministry, the signing took place in Ankara during bilateral meetings between Nurdan Oruntaev, head of the relevant department, and Murat Kuruma, Minister of Environment, Urban Development, and Climate Change of Turkiye.

The document is the practical result of agreements reached at the highest level during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's state visit to Kyrgyzstan in November 2024, as well as the culmination of joint work by the relevant ministries of the two countries to prepare and negotiate an international agreement.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further Kyrgyz-Turkish cooperation in the construction industry, the implementation of joint infrastructure and investment projects, and expanded interaction between the relevant departments of the two countries.

It is noted that the signed agreement creates a new legal basis for cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkiye in urban development, architecture, spatial planning, and sustainable urban development. Furthermore, the document opens up additional opportunities for the implementation of joint projects, the exchange of experience, and the introduction of modern technologies and advanced approaches in the construction industry.
