Bishkek, May 26, 2026. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of Kyrgyz State Customs Service Nurbek Chegirtkeev met with Oliver Stolpe, UNODC Regional Representative for Afghanistan, Central Asia, Iran, and Pakistan.
According to the agency, during the meeting, the parties discussed the results of bilateral cooperation and future areas of collaboration in strengthening the capacity of customs authorities and ensuring regional security.
Deputy Chairman expressed gratitude to Regional Representative Oliver Stolpe and UNODC representatives for their support and contribution to the development of the Kyrgyz Customs Service.
"The results of joint work were noted, including the establishment of a Port Control Unit at Manas International Airport, international training sessions, exchange visits, and the promotion of the initiative to establish a National Targeting Center," the statement says.
Special attention was also paid to improving the risk analysis system, developing the professional skills of staff, and strengthening measures to combat transnational organized crime.
Following the meeting, commitment to further strengthening the partnership and implementing joint initiatives was confirmed.
