Bishkek, May 15, 2026. /Kabar/. Minister of Emergency Situations Kanatbek Chynybaev met World Bank Country Manager for the Kyrgyz Republic Hugh Riddell.
According to the ministry, during the meeting, the parties discussed current interactions and prospects for further cooperation in disaster risk reduction, strengthening civil defense systems, and increasing the country's resilience to climate challenges.
The minister noted the effective collaboration between the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the World Bank in implementing initiatives to develop emergency prevention and response systems, and emphasized the importance of implementing modern approaches in civil defense and risk management.
The parties discussed the implementation of joint projects and prospects for expanding cooperation, including hydrometeorological projects and the development of emergency response capacity, as well as new initiatives aimed at improving public safety.
Following the meeting, they reaffirmed their commitment to further constructive interaction and continued joint work on emergency prevention and response.
