Bishkek, April 15, 2026 /Kabar/. On April 14, in Tokyo, Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic Kanat Sagynbaev met with Commissioner of the Japanese Immigration Agency Hideharu Maruyama. During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding cooperation in the area of employment for Kyrgyzstanis under the Tokutei Gino (Specified Skilled Worker) program.
According to the ministry, special attention was paid to attracting Kyrgyz citizens to sectors such as tourism, construction, agriculture, and elderly care. A key outcome was an agreement to establish specialized vocational and language training centers in Kyrgyzstan with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to conclude an interagency bilateral agreement aimed at developing organized forms of labor migration and strengthening institutional cooperation.
