Bishkek, July 8, 2026. /Kabar/. In Geneva, Minister of Science, Higher Education and Innovation Gulzat Isamatova made a statement on behalf of Kyrgyzstan at the 68th session of the Assemblies of Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
According to the agency, Isamatova thanked the UN member states for supporting Kyrgyzstan's election to the non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council for 2027-2028.
At the meeting, it was noted that the creation of a new ministry uniting the sectors of science, higher education and intellectual property will contribute to the development of a knowledge-based economy.
"Innovation and technology commercialization have been identified as the main tools of the country's economy within the framework of the National Development Program until 2030," he said.
The issue of strengthening partnerships with international organizations in the areas of patent analytics, digital transformation, and the development of intellectual property management systems in higher education institutions was also raised.
In conclusion, the Minister congratulated WIPO Director General Daren Tang on his re-election and confirmed that Kyrgyzstan is always ready for multilateral partnerships.
