Bishkek, Oct. 22, 2026 /Kabar/. Manas city is set to become a key transport and logistics hub, as well as a business center for southern Kyrgyzstan. President Sadyr Zhaparov during the national meeting dedicated to discussing strategic objectives for the next five years.
The head of state emphasized that regional policy will focus on targeted support for businesses and the prudent management of land resources.
"Manas city will be granted the special status of the country's second economic hub. It will serve as a vital transport and logistics node and a business center for southern Kyrgyzstan. Most importantly, the more challenging the conditions for investment and conducting business in the regions, the more substantial the state support must be. Furthermore, such support must yield concrete economic results," the president noted.

Sadyr Zhaparov also highlighted the necessity of implementing the "Concept for the Rational Use of Land and Development of Territories of the Kyrgyz Republic up to 2050," which includes a focus on compact urban development.
"A long-term state policy is required, as outlined in the 'Concept for the Rational Use of Land and Development of Territories of the Kyrgyz Republic up to 2050.' One of its key directions involves the development of compact settlements and multi-story construction in areas where such development is feasible, taking into account seismic, engineering, and natural conditions. Housing development must be accompanied by the expansion of utility, transport, and social infrastructure, ensuring both housing affordability and public safety.
This approach will allow for a more rational use of dwindling land resources, help preserve fertile and irrigated land for agricultural production, ensure food security, and protect water sources." "Decisions on the siting of new settlements and the expansion of existing ones must be made based on a comprehensive assessment of land resources, water availability, and natural risks," the head of state concluded.
