Minister of Energy inspects construction of solar power plants in Issyk-Kul

Bishkek, Jan. 26, 2026. /Kabar/. Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibrayev visited Issyk-Kul region on a working visit, where he met with the heads of companies operating in the renewable energy sector.

According to the ministry, the minister first inspected the construction of solar power plant being implemented by Unigrin in the village of Toru-Aigyr. During the inspection, the company's Technical Director, Timurlan Kadinov, briefed the participants on the current work and future plans. He stated that construction work is proceeding at active pace.

To date, the following work has been completed:

  • Site leveling – 80%;
  • Fencing installation – 95%;
  • Delivery of support structures for the first stage – 50%;
  • Pile driving for support structures for the first stage – 6%;
  • Mudflow protection structures, including a diversion channel and drainage ponds, are 50% complete;
  • pit preparation for 220 kV transmission line supports is 40% complete;

Support assembly is underway.

Commissioning of the 100 MW solar power plant is scheduled for August 31, 2026.

Ibraev also inspected the construction of the solar power plant, which is being implemented by CAREC. He met with Project Director Pham Minh Bag and Site Manager Nguyen Minh Tuan and received an update on the current status of the project.

According to them, 10 percent of the construction work on the 17 MW solar power plant has been completed. Temporary housing for workers has been completed, the substation foundation has been laid, and 50% of the 110 kV transmission line has been laid. Construction of the first phase of the 175 MW project is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2026.

Minister of Energy instructed the company's management to strengthen control over the quality and pace of work, emphasizing the need to strictly adhere to construction deadlines.
