Bishkek, June 22, 2026. /Kabar/. Traffic has been fully restored on the alternative North-South Highway after mudslide. Ministry of Transport and Communications reports.
On June 21, as a result of heavy rains, a mudslide occurred on a section of the highway between kilometers 361 and 370. Special road services and equipment were quickly deployed to the site to clear the roadway.
As a result of these measures, traffic on this section was fully restored and opened in both directions by 5:00 a.m. on June 22.
Widening of the roadway is currently ongoing.
