Bishkek, May 26, 2026. /Kabar/. The Xinjiang-Kyrgyz Republic Investment and Foreign Trade Forum was held in Urumqi on May 25. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to the ministry, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Sultan Akhmatov met with Deputy Chairman of the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Zhang Yingchun during the forum.
The parties discussed the development of trade and economic ties, industrial cooperation, logistics infrastructure, and the implementation of joint investment projects.
The third meeting of the Kyrgyzstan-Xinjiang Business Council was also held, as well as B2B and B2G meetings involving business representatives and government agencies from both countries.
Also, on May 26, the representative office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan was officially opened in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China. "This new platform will promote Kyrgyzstan's export potential, support investment projects, and strengthen direct business ties between entrepreneurs from the two countries," the statement read.
Following the talks, several memorandums of cooperation were signed between Kyrgyz and Chinese companies.
