Bishkek, May 29, 2026. /Kabar/. Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Sydykov, accompanied by journalists, visits the Center for Standardization and Metrology (Kyrgyzstandard) as part of Open Cabinet project.

During the visit, the minister learns the institution's activities, its main areas of work, and current projects.

According to the minister, private laboratories currently exist, including those serving Kazakhstan's mining sector, and conduct a wide range of research, from core analysis to testing for radioactive substances.

"There are laboratories capable of performing even those studies that we ourselves don't always require. However, in a number of other areas, we still experience a shortage of specialized laboratories," noted Bakyt Sydykov.

The minister emphasized that developing laboratory infrastructure remains a key area for improving the quality of research, product control, and developing the industrial sector.

Journalists saw workings of the food and agricultural product testing laboratory, where research and quality control of goods is conducted in accordance with established standards.

The "Open Cabinet" project aims to increase the transparency of government agencies and allows journalists to observe the work processes of executives and subordinate institutions in real time.
