Orozbekov: Cooperation between SCO countries helps counter threats more effectively

Bishkek, May 14, 2026. /Kabar/. Today in Bishkek, Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan Adilet Orozbekov opened the 21st meeting of the Security Council Secretaries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states.

"Our organization's long-standing practice shows that the systematic joint work of the heads of the Security Councils makes a tangible contribution to improving the quality and effectiveness of countering modern challenges and threats," said Orozbekov.

According to him, the current meeting will elevate cooperation between SCO countries to a higher level in countering existing and emerging security threats.

He also presented the meeting's agenda, which includes issues of regional security, the fight against terrorism, separatism, extremism, illegal arms and drug trafficking, human trafficking, illegal migration, and other forms of transnational organized crime, as well as ensuring international information security.

The signing of a final protocol is expected following the meeting.
