OTS member countries sign memo on urban planning in Baku

Bishkek, May 20, 2026. /Kabar/. The High-Level Urban Dialogue of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held on 19 May 2026 in Baku on the sidelines of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

According to the ministry of construction, the event became an important platform for discussing current challenges in urban development, sustainable planning, and improving urban infrastructure, as well as strengthening technical and institutional cooperation between the OTS member states.

The signing ceremony for memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the competent authorities of OTS member states in urban and spatial planning and sustainable urban development was held at the Azerbaijan pavilion.

The signing of this document laid the foundation for further strengthening cooperation between the OTS member states in urban and spatial planning, sharing best practices, and jointly implementing initiatives aimed at sustainable urban development and improving the modern urban environment.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Construction Imanakun uulu Talantbek delivered a speech as part of a discussion of national priorities in urban development and proposals for cooperation within OTS.

In addition, OTS Secretary General, Kubanychbek Omuraliev, visited the Kyrgyz national pavilion and learned about the ongoing projects presented at the urban exhibition.

As a reminder, the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) is taking place in Baku from May 17 to 22, 2026. The Ministry of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Communal Services is representing Kyrgyzstan at the international forum.
