Bishkek, April 22, 2026 /Kabar/. Bishkek hosts roundtable discussion on "How to prevent harassment on public transport" on April 21, Bishkek mayor's office reports.

Bishkek Deputy Mayor for Social Affairs Victoria Mozgacheva, representatives of the Bishkek mayor's department of social development, members of the Kyrgyz Parliament, government officials, and others participated in the roundtable.

The main goal of the event was to discuss effective measures to improve passenger safety, particularly for women and girls, and to develop awareness-raising efforts to prevent harassment on public transport.

During the meeting, presentation on overview of implemented initiatives to prevent harassment on public transport in Bishkek and other cities in the region took place. Participants discussed the results of information campaigns aimed at fostering intolerance to violence and creating a safe urban environment.

They focused on interagency cooperation, improving preventive measures, and implementing practical response mechanisms.
