Bishkek, April 24, 2026. /Kabar/. The leading scientists, industry veterans, and international experts held extended public consultations on Kambarata HPP-1 construction project in Bishkek.
According to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Energy, the main goal of the meeting was to provide the public with accurate, scientifically and technically sound information on the Kambarata HPP-1 construction project and to discuss issues arising at this stage, including openly debating key aspects of the adopted design technical solutions.
During the discussion, a representative of the Swiss consulting company AFRY presented information on the updated feasibility study (FS) for the project developed by the company.
They presented preliminary parameters of the HPP, the geological and seismic features of the construction area, the safety and reliability of the hydraulic structures, the reservoir capacity, and the compliance of the adopted solutions with international standards.
During the discussion, specialists also emphasized the importance of considering the seismic and geological conditions of the region, environmental factors, construction safety, and the long-term energy efficiency of the facility.
