Bishkek, April 17, 2026 /Kabar/. The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) signed an agreement to finance a project to equip a modern pharmaceutical complex in Kara-Balta with equipment, Artem Novikov, RKDF Chairman reports.

According to him, the fund will allocate $7 million to purchase high-tech equipment and complete the plant's commissioning. The total cost of the project exceeds $41 million.

The new complex in Kara-Balta is the largest in the country and will produce over 100 million vials of infusion solutions and over 1 billion tablets and other dosage forms annually. This will allow for 30% of the existing domestic market deficit to be covered through in-house production. This plant will help ensure import substitution and stable production and pricing for its products.

"Currently, over $230 million is spent abroad on the purchase of pharmaceuticals and medicines. In-house production accounts for only $7 million. This statistic must change," the statement says.

The plant's product range will include medications needed daily by hospitals and pharmacies throughout the republic. Thanks to the implementation of global safety standards, every tablet and solution produced in Kara-Balta will meet international quality criteria.

It is clarified that the RKDF continues its systematic work to support the country's industrialization, investing in projects that make the lives of Kyrgyz citizens safer and the economy self-sufficient.
