Bishkek, May 12, 2026 /Kabar/. Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev presented road construction figures for recent years at a meeting with residents.
The mayor noted that, compared to previous periods, the volume of road reconstruction and construction has increased significantly. According to the mayor, there is a huge difference between previous figures and current results.
"Between 2018 and 2021, the city built a maximum of 16.7 km of roads per year. Since 2024, the pace has accelerated; 61.7 km were built that year, and 92 km last year," said Dzhunushaliev. He emphasized that it's impossible to repair all the roads at once, but the volume of work is growing every year.
"We can't repair all the roads at once. But you see that the length of roads built is increasing exponentially year after year," the mayor added.
It's worth noting that, at the direction of President Sadyr Zhaparov, government officials in all regions of the country are currently holding meetings with the public to promptly address local issues.
