Bishkek, May 12, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has issued a new silver collectible coin, "Shanghai Cooperation Organization – 25 Years," from the "Historical Events" series. Its release commemorates the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which over the past quarter century has become one of the largest international forums in Eurasia.

The coin was introduced into circulation by the National Bank of Kyrgyz Republic on May 11, 2026, and has become not only a commemorative numismatic piece but also a symbol of Kyrgyzstan's participation in the development of regional cooperation and strengthening ties between the countries of Eurasia.

The anniversary coin issue is particularly significant given that the Kyrgyz Republic will assume the SCO Presidency for 2025–2026. For the country, this represents not only a diplomatic responsibility but also an opportunity to more actively promote regional initiatives, transport and logistics projects, and economic cooperation in Central Asia.

The coin's design reflects the idea of unity and cooperation among the SCO member states. The obverse features the official emblem of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the flags of the member states. Around the rim is the inscription in Kyrgyz and Russian.

The upper part of the coin displays the precious metal specifications—Ag 925 silver fineness and a weight of 28.28 grams. The lower part displays the denomination "10" and the graphic symbol of the national currency, the som. The coin's diameter is 38.61 mm, and its mintage is 550 pieces. Each coin is housed in a special acrylic capsule and packaged in a separate case, including guality certificate.

The commemorative coin is sold at the cash desk of the National Bank on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The price of one coin is 15,350 soms.
