Bishkek, May 29, 2026. /Kabar/. In 25 years, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has become one of the most influential international organizations of our time. Finance Minister Ruslan Suyunaliev stated at meeting of finance ministers and central bank chairmen of SCO member states.
According to him, the organization, founded on June 15, 2001, in Shanghai on the principles of mutual trust, good-neighborliness, and respect for the sovereign choice of states, today plays a vital role not only in ensuring regional security and stability but also in developing trade, economic, investment, and humanitarian cooperation.
The minister noted that the global economy is undergoing a period of significant transformation, accompanied by growing geoeconomic risks, financial market volatility, accelerated technological change, and the emergence of new supply chains. Under these circumstances, he emphasized, strengthening financial and economic cooperation within the SCO is particularly important.
Suyunaliev outlined priority areas of cooperation, including ensuring the stability of financial systems, expanding settlements in national currencies, developing digital financial instruments, deepening investment cooperation, and creating conditions for the implementation of joint infrastructure projects.
"Close coordination between the financial authorities and central banks of SCO member states will enable the development of effective approaches to overcoming modern challenges and will contribute to strengthening the economic resilience of the entire organization," the minister emphasized.
He also noted that Kyrgyzstan consistently advocates for strengthening practical cooperation within the SCO, based on mutual respect, trust, and consideration of the interests of all member states.
In conclusion, the Minister of Finance invited the meeting participants to participate in the World Nomad Games, noting their importance as an international platform reflecting the rich cultural and historical heritage of the peoples of Eurasia.
