Bishkek, June 19, 2026. /Kabar/. At the VI Meeting of Energy Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States, Kyrgyzstan put forward an important initiative to establish a Regional Center for the Implementation of Energy-Efficient and Resource-Saving Technologies in Bishkek.

Kyrgyz Energy Minister Altynbek Rysbekov, in his interview with Kabar stated that this structure will become a unified platform for exchanging experience, training personnel, conducting research, and implementing modern technologies. Furthermore, the creation of the center will give a powerful impetus to the country's domestic policy.

"This gives us the opportunity to launch large-scale work in the area of energy conservation and energy efficiency. This is a pressing issue for Kyrgyzstan today. Therefore, the Cabinet of Ministers will develop a separate targeted development program in this area. We will implement it in close cooperation with all government agencies of the SCO member states," the minister said.

He also added that his SCO colleagues fully supported the Kyrgyz side's initiative.
