SCO: New initiatives in industrial cooperation discussed in Cholpon-Ata

Cholpon-Ata, June 5, 2026. /Kabar/. Today, during the 4th meeting of industry ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in Cholpon-Ata, participants discussed a number of important issues related to industrial development and expanding economic cooperation between the organization's member states. Kyrgyz Minister of Economy and Commerce Bakyt Sydykov told Kabar.

According to him, the parties discussed promising initiatives in industrial cooperation, including the exchange of personnel, experience, and advanced technologies between the SCO countries.

"We are working on agreement to establish a textile cluster, which will preserve the entire value chain within SCO member states, from material production to design and finished product manufacturing. This will contribute to strengthening cooperative ties and developing the internal economic potential of the organization's member states," the minister noted.

Furthermore, the meeting participants discussed the creation of unified investment project database, which should become effective platform for identifying and promoting joint initiatives. The participants support the idea of ​​establishing SCO Development Bank, which could become a key financial instrument for implementing joint projects and initiatives among the organization's member states.
