Swimmer Shuliko successfully swam across Tort-Gul Reservoir in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, June 17, 2026 /Kabar/. Renowned swimmer Vladislav Shuliko successfully swam across the Tort-Gul Reservoir in Batken region as part of the national flag relay for the World Championships.

According to Batken oblast administration, before the swim, Deputy governor Maksatay Karimberdieva met with the athlete and his team, wishing them success.

The delegation then visited the Tort-Gul Reservoir, where Vladislav Shuliko completed a two-kilometer swim. The athlete completed the distance in 30 minutes.

Relevant services were called in to ensure the swimmer's safety during the swim. The organizers note that the event aims to promote upcoming international competitions and the tourism potential of Kyrgyzstan.

As a reminder, the UIM F1H2O World Championship – Grand Prix of Kyrgyzstan – Issyk-Kul 2026 international tournament will be held in the Issyk-Kul region from July 31 to August 2. In preparation for the championship, a national flag relay race is being held in all regions of the country.

Previously, on June 1, 2026, Sardinia officially handed over to Kyrgyzstan the flag relay race for the World Championship, and to host one of the stages of the UIM F1H2O World Championship on its territory.
