Representatives from U.S. Central Command, U.S. Air Force Central, the Montana Army and Air National Guard, Special Operations Command Central, and the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic convened at the Ministry of Defense’s base in Koi Tash, from February 4-5 for the annual “FY 2027 Action Officer Working Group,” the U.S. Embassy in Bishkek reported.

This event is the cornerstone of military-to-military security cooperation and solidifies cooperation plans for the upcoming year.

In her opening remarks, Deputy Chief of Mission Liz Zentos highlighted the enduring 30-year partnership between the Montana National Guard and the Kyrgyz Republic’s Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Emergency Services, and Border Service. Since 1996, this partnership has fostered strong, resilient relationships built on trust and the pursuit of mutual goals.

DCM Zentos said, “We look forward to refining and optimizing our military-to-military training plans for both 2026 and 2027. Today’s forum is valuable to ensure shared understanding and to find common ground.”
