Bishkek, Jan. 12, 2026. /Kabar/. In 2025, veterinary measures were carried out on more than 25.5 million animals across Kyrgyzstan, Bakyt Sharapov, Deputy Director of the Veterinary, Livestock, Pasture and Forage Development Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic told during a broadcast on Birinchi Radio.

According to him, veterinary measures covered 25,546,000 head of livestock nationwide. Of these, 23,537,000 animals received preventive vaccinations, 12,017,000 underwent diagnostic testing, and 738,000 were treated against parasites.

“The planned targets were fulfilled by 104 percent,” Sharapov said.

He also noted that strict veterinary control is maintained at livestock markets to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

“Animals arriving at markets and slaughterhouses are under constant veterinary supervision. Buyers have the right to request a veterinary certificate confirming that the animal has passed inspection,” he added.
