Bishkek, June 26, 2026 /Kabar/. Over its 33 years of operation, the Women's Congress of Kyrgyzstan has implemented 77 projects, each aimed at protecting women's rights, including economic ones. Zamira Akbagysheva, President of Women's Congress of Kyrgyz Republic told Kabar at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Women's Forum on "Women's Leadership."
Akbagysheva emphasized that they have been involved in entrepreneurship since the very first days of their work, and it can be said that the organization has made a significant contribution to the development of women's entrepreneurship. According to her, the Congress's primary mission is women in entrepreneurship and economics, which is why they conduct numerous educational courses.
"An educated woman equals an educated country, an educated child, an educated nation. Among these courses, computer courses are particularly noteworthy. The organization has been offering them for a long time, but has now expanded from the city to the village, opening branches in rural areas focused on digitalization," she noted.
"Therefore, in my opinion, the state has done enough to develop women's entrepreneurship," she noted.
She said, the number of women entrepreneurs has almost doubled compared to 2022.
"Worldwide, small and medium-sized businesses are an important part of economic development, and the most interesting thing is that in our country, 42% of them are women entrepreneurs," she added.
