Young Kyrgyz scientists win international award in Italy

Bishkek, June 26, 2026. /Kabar/. On June 24, the ISIA Strategic Horizons: Italy-Asia Research Award ceremony was held in Rome.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the award, established by the Italian Institute of Asia (ISIA), is aimed at supporting excellent research on Italy's strategic relations with Asian countries.

In this prestigious competition, in which more than 30 young scientists from Italy and a number of Asian countries participated, Kyrgyz experts achieved great success, winning the main prizes.

  • 1st place - Joomart Nadyrbekov (Kyrgyzstan): Expert of "Tunduk" OJSC. His research: "Digital Silk Road 2.0: A strategic opportunity for Italy in the field of e-government in Central Asia".
  • 2nd place – Temirlan Razbaev (Kyrgyzstan): expert at the National Institute for Strategic Studies under the President. His research: "Italy as a gateway for venture capital and technology transfer to Central Asia: the strategic role of Kyrgyzstan".
  • 3rd place – Aigerim Smagulova (Kazakhstan): expert at "Astana Open Dialogue". His research: "Italy - Kazakhstan: Strategic Partnership in the Era of Digitalization".

Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan, Ermek Omuraliev, who participated in the event, thanked the ISIA Institute and noted that this competition will make a significant contribution to strengthening the strategic dialogue between Italy and Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia as a whole.
