Bishkek, March 10, 2026 /Kabar/. The annual inflation rate in Kyrgyzstan reached 9.6% as of February 20, according to Ainura Mambetkul kyzy, head of the monetary policy department of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.
According to her, since the beginning of the year, prices have increased by 1.8%.
"The increase in inflation is primarily due to the situation in global markets and external factors. Rising prices for imported goods has led to a chain reaction of rising prices on the domestic market. Due to the rise in the cost of imported goods, inflationary pressure within the country has intensified," she noted.
Mambetkul kyzy emphasized that current inflationary processes are primarily caused by the republic's dependence on imports.
