ARVI and influenza incidence declines in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Jan. 26, 2026. /Kabar/. During the 4th week of 2026 (January 19–25), a total of 14,607 cases of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and influenza were registered in the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service, the incidence rate stood at 199.1 per 100,000 population.

Compared to the previous 3rd week of 2026, when the incidence rate was 216.3 per 100,000 population, the level of morbidity decreased by 7.9 percent.

Children continue to account for the majority of cases, with 72.4 percent of infections recorded among children under the age of 14.

Sentinel epidemiological surveillance for severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) and influenza-like illnesses continues across the country. Monitoring is being conducted in Bishkek, Osh, and Tokmok.

Health specialists recommend following basic preventive measures, including regular handwashing, frequent ventilation of indoor spaces, avoiding contact with infected individuals, wearing masks in crowded places, maintaining proper sleep and nutrition, and receiving seasonal influenza vaccination.
