Central Asia - Northern Europe: Kyrgyzstan proposes deepening cooperation in green economy

Bishkek, Dec. 5, 2025. /Kabar/. On December 4, informal meeting of foreign ministers in the Central Asia-Northern Europe format was held in Vienna within the framework of the OSCE Ministerial Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers and deputy foreign ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland and Sweden. The event discussed strengthening interregional and bilateral cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and Northern Europe, as well as the current situation in Afghanistan and its impact on the OSCE region.

Speaking on behalf of Kyrgyzstan, First Deputy Foreign Minister Asein Isaev emphasized that regional cooperation in Central Asia has significantly strengthened in recent years due to active political dialogue and joint economic, transport, energy, cultural and humanitarian projects.

He also proposed learning from the integration experience of the countries of Northern Europe and deepening practical cooperation in areas such as the green economy and digitalization.

In addition, the Kyrgyz side stated that it is actively participating in international and regional efforts for peace and sustainable development in Afghanistan.
