Bishkek, Dec. 3, 2025. /Kabar/. Due to the surge in flu and acute respiratory viral infections, about 25 preschools in Bishkek and around 40 in the Chui region have been temporarily closed. In the Osh region, five schools have switched to online learning. The data were announced on December 2 at a meeting of the task force monitoring the epidemiological situation in the country.

According to the Ministry of Health, sanitary instructions have been issued to the heads of various organizations and institutions. Notifications were sent to district administrations and relevant agencies, including the Ministry of Education and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan. Large shopping centers, cultural venues, and educational institutions were advised to strengthen preventive measures. In regions where the situation remains stable, preventive efforts are also being intensified to prevent the spread of infection.

Quarantine measures have been reinforced at all healthcare facilities. Mandatory mask-wearing has been introduced, visits to hospitals have been restricted, influenza prevention materials have been posted, and regular disinfection and bactericidal treatment of premises is being carried out.

Specialists from the Center for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision are taking all necessary measures to curb further spread of infection. The situation is being monitored around the clock, and the public will be promptly informed of new decisions and recommendations.

Following the meeting, the task force decided to enhance preventive measures and monitoring in educational institutions and intensify public awareness efforts.

The task force also recommended that Interdistrict Centers for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision ramp up preventive work not only in schools and kindergartens but also in shopping malls, especially those with children’s play areas. If the rapid rise in cases continues, temporary restrictions and quarantine measures in child-congregation areas may be considered.
