Bishkek, March 13, 2026. /Kabar/. Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Choro Seyitov commented on the current inflation situation during a briefing today, noting the impact of both external and domestic shocks on the country's economy.

According to the deputy minister, the Kyrgyz economy remains extremely sensitive to external factors. This is primarily due to logistics: the cost and complexity of deliveries, global prices, fluctuations in exchange prices for commodities such as vegetable oil and sugar, and crop yields in partner countries.

Domestic factors are assessed as more stable, but they depend on the size of cultivated areas and weather conditions within the republic.

"Our inflation target is 5.7%, but the figures will be reassessed based on the results of this year. The external environment has changed significantly, requiring a revision of forecasts," Seyitov emphasized.

It should be noted that last year, inflation remained within single-digit levels but exceeded 9%.

The deputy minister also added that the growth of fixed capital investment, projected at 18-20%, remains an important driver of the economy. This figure is linked to the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects.

Furthermore, the ministry continues its fiscalization efforts to adapt the domestic market. In particular, a pilot project in the hotel and restaurant sector has shown successful results. "Following the pilot project, tax collections in this sector have increased significantly. The State Tax Service also intends to expand the project to include businesses such as saunas and bathhouses," said Choro Seyitov.
